Choose a Shared Direction

Amos 3:3
Two people can love each other deeply and still drift apart if they never agree on where they are going. Shared direction gives a marriage focus. It helps a couple make decisions about faith, family, finances, service, rest, and the future as one team.
Agreement does not mean you must think alike about everything. It means you keep bringing your desires, fears, and plans into honest conversation until you can move forward with mutual respect. The goal is not for one spouse to win, but for both to discern what honours God and protects the marriage.
When direction is unclear, do not rush or force. Pray together, listen carefully, seek wise counsel when needed, and take the next faithful step. Unity grows when both spouses have a voice in the journey.
Reflection question
Where are we moving together, and where might we be quietly walking in different directions?
Prayer
God, align our hearts with Yours and with one another. Help us listen without defensiveness, plan without control, and walk together in wisdom, peace, and purpose. Amen.
Today’s step
Set aside fifteen minutes to discuss one shared goal for the next three months and agree on one first step.
