Love With Intention

1 John 3:18
Love is not sustained by good intentions alone. Scripture calls us to love in action and truth. In marriage, affection matters, but intentional love also looks like keeping your word, noticing your spouse’s needs, making time, and doing the small things that say, ‘You matter to me.’
Without intention, busy schedules can slowly turn spouses into roommates. Connection rarely deepens by accident. Healthy marriage needs purposeful attention—not grand gestures every day, but consistent care.
Ask God to show you the kind of love your spouse needs from you today. Then make that love visible. A thoughtful message, an unhurried conversation, a completed task, or a gentle touch can become holy acts of devotion when offered with a willing heart.
Reflection question
What loving action would make my spouse feel seen and valued today?
Prayer
Jesus, teach us to love not only with words but with actions and truth. Make us attentive, dependable, and generous toward one another. Let our daily choices reveal Your love. Amen.
Today’s step
Ask your spouse, ‘What is one thing I can do today that would help you feel loved?’ Then do it.
