Steward the Gift

1 Corinthians 7:7
Marriage is more than something you have; it is something God has entrusted to you. Your spouse is not a possession to manage, but a person to honour, protect, and love. Gifts are treated with gratitude, handled with care, and never taken for granted.
It is easy to become familiar with the blessing of marriage and forget its value. Routine can make appreciation quiet, while disappointment makes criticism loud. But when you see your marriage as a gift from God, your question changes from ‘What am I getting?’ to ‘How can I steward what God has given us?’
Today, thank God for your spouse—not only for what they do, but for who they are. Stewarding the gift begins with gratitude.
Reflection question
Have I been treating my spouse as a gift from God or taking them for granted?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of our marriage. Help us honour one another, care for our covenant, and never become careless with what You have entrusted to us. Amen.
Today’s step
Tell your spouse one specific quality you thank God for in them.
