Stronger With the Third Strand

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Scripture celebrates the strength of partnership: two can help one another rise, keep one another warm, and stand together when life presses hard. Then it gives an even richer picture—a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

In marriage, husband and wife are not meant to carry everything in their own strength. God is the third strand who gives wisdom when you disagree, grace when you fail, comfort when you grieve, and courage when the road is uncertain. Inviting Him into your marriage is more than mentioning His name; it is surrendering your attitudes, decisions, and responses to His leadership.

A Christ-centred marriage is not a trouble-free marriage. It is a marriage with a faithful Source of strength. When both spouses draw near to God, they receive what they need to keep drawing near to each other.
